Art Week : Getting Under the Skin of Time
Film Screening followed by ‘In Conversation; with Julie Brook
Julie Brook will speak about her time working in Libya, Syria and Namibia and on uninhabited coastlines of the Hebrides.
Through her land drawings and sculptural work she will explore her responses to these landscapes, the materials, the quality of light, time and how the elements influence the nature of the work.
This recent work in Fife I think is especially pertinent in raising awareness about the tidal shifts and rising sea levels. It was made on the coastline near Cellardyke and easily accessed by people.

Art Week : Artist’s Talk - Fadzai Mwakutuya
Artist’s Talk - Fadzai Mwakutuya
At An Talla Solais
Fadzai Mwakutuya FRSA is a curator and artist whose practice bridges socially engaged projects and studio-based exploration. Shaped by the intertwined histories of Zimbabwe, Mozambique, and Scotland, her recent work investigates memory, migration, and identity, focusing on the spaces between heritage and erasure, belonging and displacement. By combining print with text, found imagery, and archival material, she films, installs, models, and writes, creating work that sits between research documentation and interpretation, and invites viewers to reconsider history and identity.
“I foster dialogue, question dominant narratives, and reimagine how memory is preserved. Travel deeply informs my approach, revealing stories that might otherwise go unheard”.
