Lino Print Weekend Workshop

Relief Lino Printing Weekend 15th -16th June 2024

Throughout the weekend we will explore different methods of printmaking without a press to

create a base knowledge to develop and use in your art practice. By trying each method in a hands-on, practical session you will have a broad technical overview to start your printmaking journey.

What will we cover?

During the course, you will experiment with basic stamp cutting, multi-block compositions,

and jigsaw prints. We will look at design transfer, cutting techniques, ink preparation and

mixing, and print registration. You will learn the basics of each process and will be given the freedom to try new ways to create your own artwork. You will be given guidance and support through each process to further your artistic ability. You will be encouraged to develop your ideas and produce a portfolio of prints.

Do I need any particular skills?

This course is suitable for complete beginners and perfect for anyone who would like to gain

an insight into essential printmaking techniques. Basic drawing skills are an advantage.

Please bring sketches, photographs or other visual resources as a starting point for the first

session, each student will create prints using their own ideas and will create a unique

portfolio.
