Ceramics Summer school Beginners Week

CERAMICS SUMMER SCHOOL - Introduction to ceramics

A very unique opportunity to learn the basics in an intensive ceramics summer school

Translating Motion into Form

with ceramic artist Sarah Rychtarova Mon 29th July - Fri 2nd Aug 2024

In a relaxed, informative environment using clay as an artistic medium, students will learn handbuilding techniques as well as the very basics in wheel throwing. There will be an opportunity to explore these techniques further by playing and experimenting to encourage you to create work through your own ideas and visions. Part of the day will be spent outdoors finding inspiration in the beautiful surroundings for surface decoration, which will be applied directly onto your clay pieces, and/or via documentation in a sketchbook if you prefer.

This is the perfect course for those with little to no experience in handbuilding and throwing. Please bring your own sketchbook and drawing materials if you wish to develop particular ideas within the outline of the programme. Drawing skills are not required for this course.

Clay, materials and firing costs are included.

Price need not be a barrier, If you need to discuss payment options, and to book please contact mhairi@antallasolais.org
