A meeting of Poetry and Art - With Keren Macpherson

This hands-on ekphrastic workshop is designed to encourage poets of all levels to explore the many connections between poetry and art.

To help poets find inspiration and new ways of thinking about and engaging with works of art by using creative language to create poetic responses to the work of George Macpherson RSA, showing in the exhibition: ‘Ceòl na Tìr-dhàimh | The Music of Home’, showing in the gallery from 28th March - 17th May.

Keren Macpherson trained as an artist at Edinburgh College of Art, painting and teaching art after graduation. She completed an MLitt in Writing Practice at the University of Dundee and has several poems published, most recently in Scotia Extremis (Luath Press 2019).

Links between artistic techniques and poetry, such as shape, line, space, composition, image/imagery, and texture, will be explored through lively writing exercises. Please bring an energetic and curious mind.
