In this workshop you will start your journey into the colourful world of Fair Isle knitting through making and learning about it’s history.
Using Shetland wool, you will learn how to stand two colours at a time using specific techniques. We will explore why colour is so importantly put together in fair isle knitting. You will also learn how to read fair isle charts, whilst knitting in the round.
You will practice your newly learnt technique and start on the headband pattern that is designed exclusively for this workshop by me - Sophie from Forest and Dot.
Suitable for those with basic knitting knowledge; can knit, purl, rib, cast on and off confidently and are looking to start out on their fair isle journey.
You will need to bring a set of 3.25mm - 40cm circular knitting needle.
Lots of Shetland wool colours will be provided.
