A workshop designed for artists and craftmakers who would like to improve how they write about their art and practice possibly to achieve wider coverage of their work.
Led by critic and Art North editor Ian McKay, this workshop will include hints, tips, and practical examples of how artists and craftmakers can promote their work, from writing press releases that get noticed, to photographing your work to industry-standard expectations.
With plenty of examples of the good (the not-so-good) and the 'cannily persuasive' ways that artists promote what they do, time will also be available to ask questions about the real-world experience of dealing with an often confusing media environment.
If you are seeking inside information on how to promote your work with timely information that is both well organised and accessible when it matters most, this workshop is for you.
This is a free workshop thanks to funding from Creative Scotland. However, places are limited so please book in advance: email@example.com. The venue for this workshop will be confirmed with participants nearer the time.
