Talk: What would the world be like without kelp?

Find out about the value of the forests under our seas with Professor Juliet Brodie and Ailsa McLellan.

Join us for a unique and engaging conversation between Professor Brodie, research leader at London’s Natural History Museum and a world expert on seaweed, and local marine scientist Ailsa McLellan who works to raise awareness of the continued threat of kelp dredging around Scotland's coastline.

Find out how seaweed plays a vital role for our ecosystems and coastlines not just around the west of Scotland but across the world and how valuable these 'forests under the sea' are for our future.

This special event is part of An Talla Solais's current exhibition As Coastline is to Ocean and will be held at Ullapool Ferry Terminal.

This is a free event but advance booking is recommended: please email
