An evening workshop designed for cultural organisations interested in developing activities to support people with dementia.
Led by Karrie Marshall of Creativity in Care, the workshop will explore the idea that cultural and creative activity is central to our identities, and that especially when memory is failing, cultural activity can help maintain individuals’ sense of themselves.
Looking at examples of creative activities with people living with dementia this workshop will allow groups to explore how they might extend their usual activities to work in this area. It will be inspiring and informal and will allow room for discussion about what might work well in our highland communities.
Places are free but limited, with priority given to people with a connection with a local organisation. Please email firstname.lastname@example.org for more info or to book.
The workshop will take place in An Talla Solais’s Gallery on West Argyle Street, Ullapool IV26 2UG. Tea / coffee and cake will be provided. This event is sponsored by the Life Changes Trust in partnership with the Big Lottery. It takes place as part of the Scottish Mental Health Arts Festival (Highland).
