Rosanne Wiseman - Rocks Pools Reflections
30 September - 22 October
Aultbea artist, Rosanne Wiseman, will showcase her work as part of this year’s An Talla Solais Members’ Exhibition. Rosanne has produced a collection of mixed media paintings reflecting her love of colour and texture inspired by the sea shore.
Living by the sea has produced endless subject matter and inspiration for Rosanne but this body of work concentrates on rock pools, water surface reflection as well as lines and fissures in the surrounding rocks. Working from initial sketches and photographs, she has interpreted the scattering of pebbles on the pool bed, their colours enhanced by submersion in the water. The water surface with its shapes of reflected light, has been described using collage, paint and applied fabrics. Rosanne has taken this enquiry a step further by producing a series of small collages using encaustic wax and heated plastics to create a truly reflective surface whilst implying depth.
This showcase of Rosanne's work will also form her degree show as she completes her studies with the Open College of the Arts for a BA (Hons) Degree in painting.
