The fourth annual members' art show at an talla solais in Ullapool is open from 1 - 4pm every day until 18th December. Admission is free.
Over 100 artworks - paintings, jewellery, textiles, photographs, sculpture, ceramics and mixed media in two- and three-dimensions - by more than 40 local artists, are on show. The exhibition reflects the concentration of hugely talented artists living and working in the Ullapool area and includes Gerry Irvine's small jewel-bright paintings, Allison Weightman's sensuous raku fired pots, Joanna Wright's lyrical mixed media collages and Peter White's small, luminous paintings. Most work is for sale - prices start at £40 and works purchased can be collected in time for Christmas.
For more information contact: an talla solais, Ullapool Visual Arts is a registered charity run by and for local artists, and provides a space for exhibitions, classes, workshops and individual studios. Membership is open to all and costs £10 per year.

BLAST OFF ON OPEN DAY!Saturday 12th September 11am – 3pm In parallel with Ullapool Community Trust, an talla solais is having an Open Day on 12th September. Visitors are invited to try out our new ceramics facilities by bringing an object to decorate with a sandblasted pattern. If you have an old mirror you want to cheer up, a piece of slate you want to turn into a house sign, or just a piece of metal, glass or a used bottle you’d like to transform, bring it along and watch it change before your very eyes! The day will be a fun chance to see behind the scenes at an talla solais: visit the studios of our resident artists, find out about future courses and activities, enjoy hot chocolate in our new garden while suggesting your ideas for its development, meet some of our volunteers, celebrate our new access from Market Street, as well as a last chance to visit our acclaimed exhibition Coastal Connections. We moved into the former Ullapool medical centre in February 2008. Much work has been done in this last year to bring the building to life and transform it into a space fit for purpose. Individual studios are let to local artists. Group studios are available for classes and workshops. The gallery space is flexible with a new lighting and hanging system.
