Bridge House Art, Old Moss Road, Ullapool offers both a Full-Time Portfolio course and a range of Summer schools. The Portfolio Course is unique to the west coast of Scotland and offers the student an opportunity to study in an intimate and stimulating environment. It is designed for people to gain access to degree study at art school or who would like to study art at a deeper level. Many mature students have used this course as a sabbatical or as a chance to develop a new direction in their lives. The course offers excellent studio facilities for a maximum of 10 students ensuring a personal input in a creative and supportive environment. There is accommodation available in the village and staying and working a winter in Ullapool offers a genuine west coast experience and a fully focused course in a rural environment.
The summer school offers a full range of mixed media courses to suit all abilities, no need for previous experience. The courses take advantage of the dramatic landscape and are based outside at least 50% of the week giving students the chance to explore the landscape in many innovative ways. The studio is used to develop work in greater depth, also eat lunch enjoy company and talk over the days work in a relaxed and supportive atmosphere.
All materials are provided for both the portfolio course and the summer courses. Lunch is provided for the summer courses. Bridge House Art also offers Travelling workshops to art societies and private groups.
