My work at present deals with painting, especially the placing of created objects within the wilderness of the natural world. I paint on large canvases or wood, using oil paint most often, and sometimes acrylic.
I trained as a sculptor at Duncan of Jordanstone College of Art, Dundee.
I use various methods and materials, from modelling in clay then casting, and stone and wood carving, to construction with wood, stone and metal, mainly concerning myself with landscape.
I also trained as a ceramicist in Denmark, many years ago, in the workshops of Gutte Ericksen and Helle Allpass and I occasionally focus on that medium. I have a gas kiln and use a red clay for throwing and make porcelain panels and dishes on which I draw with ceramic pencils.
My work is for sale and my studio is open by appointment.
