Join ceramicist Kathleen Madigan for an alternative approach to clay at the ATS Pottery Studio.
The weekend workshop will involve quiet reflection and meditative exploration of being in nature. It will use clay to ground your experience of seeing, touching and hearing in a simple and direct way.
You will work with stoneware clay and learn simple techniques of slip and sgraffito decoration.
The weekend will run on Saturday 6th and Sunday 7th October from 10 to 4pm on both days. Complete beginners are welcome. You should bring your own lunch (or there will be time to visit a local cafe). The workshop costs £130 (£117 for ATS Members) including clay, glaze and kiln firing. Places are limited: please book by emailing firstname.lastname@example.org. A deposit of £50 should be paid in advance to secure your place.
Please note that the clay will be bisque fired after the workshop and a transparent glaze applied; pieces will be ready to collect by the end of October.
