An immersive day of drawing and hiking through the incredibly rich and varied landscape of Knockan Crag with painter Ellis O'Connor.
In this inspiring landscape, professionals and first time painters alike are invited to explore their practices through the learning of varied techniques.
We will be walking to different locations in the area exploring the panoramic views and qualities of texture, light and perspective. At each location we will learn a new approach to working with the landscape by using mixed medium with the materials of the earth, working with acrylics, charcoal and inks whilst portraying the light, lines, texture and depth at each place. It will be a chance to learn many techniques and then go forward with a chosen one for a final piece. This workshop will be taught through group discussion and one-to-one tutorials.
Charcoal, pencils and paper will be provided but please bring a sketchbook, suitable outdoor clothing, hiking boots, a packed lunch, water, and midge repellent!
£10 per person (£9 for ATS Members), or £5 concessions. Places will be limited so please book in advance by contacting Geraldine on firstname.lastname@example.org
Where: Meeting in North West Highlands Geopark car park (Knockan Crag) at 10am. Please let us know if you'd like a lift or have space in your car to offer to others.
This workshop will run as part of our Murmur exhibition, showing at the gallery in August and September.
