Come and be part of a giant community print! Spend an hour or two printmaking, musing, and enjoying some company or a quiet corner.
Resident in Ullapool Library's conservatory, the Community Print project aims to open up a conversation about climate change and community resilience. How will Ullapool respond to climate change? What impact can we anticipate for humans and non-human life? How will climate change effect Ullapool and the wider region?
Through a series of print workshops, related events and animated conversations, participants will be encouraged to consider the challenges and opportunities Ullapool faces in light of climate change. Printmaking will be used to visualise a future for Ullapool that recognises the reality of climate change and its possible implications for low carbon living.
Facilitated by Jonathan Baxter and Sarah Gittins, the Community Print project is open to all ages and abilities. As well as providing an opportunity to learn more about climate change participants will be introduced to different printmaking techniques and encouraged to contribute to the realisation of a large-scale Community Print to be sited in Ullapool’s Ferry Terminal.
